Word Verification: A challenge/request to all commenters.

That picture is a word verification. You type it out when you leave a comment on a person's blog to prove that you are a human. While it may prove that you are human, it does not prove that you are a feeling, thinking, human. So, here's the deal. Whenever you leave a comment on my site, I would love it if you would, at the end of the comment, tell me what your word verification was and what it makes you think of. Word association, dirty words, whatever. I just know that you think of SOMETHING when you see that thing and then type it in, and I want to know what it is! I know you guys are all creative, free-thinkers, so use your word verification and prove it.

For example, If your comment is:

Josh, your vid rocks!

I would like you to add:

My word verification was vbwlliqox, which makes me think of volley ball and liquox, which would be a good name for a draino-type liquid.

See? It's easy.

"Mom"

This is a portrait of my mom, who is a professional quilter. She's got sponsorship and everything, which means that she gets new machines all the time. In this video, my mom gave me a little tour of her studio, which is a very cool thing to have in your house. When I was little, I was under the assumption that everyone's mother was as cool and creative as mine, and that they all had studios, but I found out that I was just lucky. She's always been an inspiration for me to pursue the things I want to do and be confident in doing the work I want to be doing.

To my mom, I love you.
To everyone else, check out her website: Robbi Eklow

"Sweetfellas"

This is my entry for the IC Microcinema 24-Hour Video Race. The mystery prop that we were given to use in our video was bubblegum candy. It's a parody/tribute of sort of the memorable scene from Goodfellas.

"Free Dog"

Late night procrastination led me to join the fight to free Dog the Bounty Hunter.

Mash-ups

We were talking about mashups in class on Tuesday, so I figure I'd throw up one that I did a while ago of Buffalo '66 and the Eagle Man Commercials that any young-blooded Chicagoan will remember.

"Rejected Commercial"

I made this commercial for an insurance company called MetLife, and they totally hated it. They said that they were not only not going to pay me, but they also had my escorted out of their offices by security. Unbelievable!

"What I Had For Lunch"

Click on the roach to play

For some reason, midday meals seem to be a hugely popular topic for blogs. I figured, for my first official post, why not try my hand at trying to make the best blog post about lunch ever?

P.S. I think Margaret Mason might have been right.

"Art Project"

I used an art project that my friend Sara conceived as an excuse to try out the video camera on my new phone.
